ABOUT THE COURSE

This 40-Hour Divorce and Family Mediation Training Seminar is a comprehensive CLE-approved domestic relations mediation training seminar designed to thoroughly prepare you to become a professional mediator. It is our ONLY course in Alabama that meets the training requirements for General/Civil and Domestic Relations mediators for inclusion on the Alabama state court mediator roster maintained by the Alabama Center for Dispute Resolution. (Participants who complete the course will also satisfy the 20-hour mediation training requirement necessary to be listed on the roster in other case categories).

WHO CAN ATTEND

There is no pre-requisite to attend this seminar. EVERYONE interested in mediation is welcome to attend including new and experienced mediators, lawyers, judges, counselors, therapists, HR professionals, educators, undergraduate and graduate students, law students, clergy, health care professionals, business executives, ombuds, realtors, and anyone interested in helping families and individuals in mediation.

AGENDA

The class will meet from 8:30 am -- 5:30 pm each day. There will be a 1-hour lunch break each day from approximately 12:00 noon to 1:00 pm. Lunch is on your own. Check in begins at 8:00 am on Day 1.

FACULTY

Troy Smith began mediating in 1992 and has been a mediation trainer for nearly three decades. Over 5000 mediators, attorneys, and judges have completed his training programs nationwide. Sarah (Sally) Clark Bowers, JD, LCSW is a mediator, attorney, collaborative law practitioner, and licensed clinical social worker. A decade ago, Sally co-developed (with Troy) Alabama's FIRST domestic relations mediation seminar designed specifically for mediators in Alabama. Sally has practiced law in Alabama for over 35 years and has extensive experience in all areas of family law including divorce, dependency, post-divorce, and child advocacy. Sally is currently with Proctor & Vaughn (Of Counsel) in Sylacauga, AL.

SEMINAR REGISTRATION TRANSFER and CANCELLATION POLICY

Full Refund. Your seminar fee is fully refundable if you cancel your registration 21 or more days prior to the first day of the seminar, less a $50 administrative fee. All cancellations must be received in writing or via email.

Reschedule Anytime. If you must reschedule your attendance at a seminar -- even at the last minute -- you may transfer your registration without additional cost to another equally priced seminar within 24 months of the date of your original program. All reschedule requests must be in writing and received prior to the start of the seminar. (No-shows will not be eligible to reschedule).

Substitutions. If you are unable to attend a seminar for which you have registered, you may send a substitute in your place. If you need to send a substitute, we ask that you notify us at least 1 day in advance of your seminar, if possible.

Event Cancellation. In the highly unlikely event that Mediation CLE, Inc. must cancel or reschedule a program for which you are registered for any reason, we will refund your registration fees or transfer your registration to another program, whichever you choose.
